Sebastian Mlynarski is a New York-based director, cinematographer, and executive producer whose work moves between documentary, art film, and television.
Most recently he completed Amos Poe: Unmade, a documentary essay portrait of Amos Poe, a New York underground filmmaker. The six-episode true crime series Who Hired the Hitman? which he directed and shot aired on Discovery ID in the fall of 2025. Sebastian’s 2022 documentary feature Holy Heist — an investigation into one of America’s most notorious robberies — premiered on Discovery+ and is currently in scripted development with Appian Way.
His films have premiered at Tribeca, the Ottawa International Film Festival, and the Venice Biennale. His conceptual work The Waves, scored by Academy Award–winning composer Andrew Wyatt, was exhibited at the New Museum in New York. He received an MTV Video Music Award nomination for his direction of Miike Snow.
In 2013 Sebastian Mlynarski founded View With a Room, a boutique production company based in New York City.
